It seems like everyone wants to retire early these days. I would say it's not that you want to retire, but that you don't like your current job. BUT, here’s what you need to know!

To get a rough idea of how much you'll need, multiply your annual salary by 25. So if you earn 60,000, you'll need about 1.5 million. This assumes a few things:

1. You invest in a broad stock index.
2. You only withdraw 4% of that money each year (this doesn't account for inflation).

This money should last you about 30 years. You'll also use Social Security to help you (once you officially retire, in your 60s).
