I have worked with many companies that do this and I completely agree, their systems are very complex and used by many people so they prefer to minimize the risk of something going wrong over the weekend .
However, many modern technology companies already have a continuous integration system in place to ensure the robustness and reliability of their product.
They have
– numerous unit tests
– good follow-up
– QA functional tests
– Limited scope
– an easy way to go back
In that case, why don't you deploy on Friday?
