See how baby Jack's mom and dad comfort him after a checkup where he was vaccinated, as part of #HowVaccinesWork.

Baby Jack has pain, redness and swelling where he received his injections. These are all common reactions that will soon disappear. His mother uses a cool, damp cloth to help him feel better.

The doctor gave them some additional tips to make Jack feel comfortable after his vaccinations. The pediatrician recommended giving Jack plenty of fluids because he might eat less than usual for 24 hours after vaccination.

Jack's father is reading some information the doctor gave him, which explains some other mild side effects Jack might experience over the next few days.

Serious reactions to #vaccines are very rare. But Jack's parents will call his doctor if they notice anything that worries them.

Like all parents, Jack's mother and father are a little upset because he feels uncomfortable after receiving his injections; But when they think about the risk of Jack getting sick from one of the 14 vaccine-preventable #diseases, they know it's worth protecting him in the long term.
