The two main artists who were the "inventors" of Cubism in 1907 were the Frenchman Georges Braque and the Spaniard Pablo Picasso. Despite their name, none of these cubes painted by the cubist. Instead of painting a figure or object from a fixed position, they depicted it from several points of view.
