Can you use your own body heat and movement to power wearable devices that can track your health and help you manage your well-being without ever worrying about charging or changing batteries? The answer is yes! In her talk, Veena Misra will explain how advanced energy harvesting technologies, ultra-low power electronics and sensors can help you track your health and even your personal environmental exposure in a continuous and non-invasive way, all powered by you.

Veena Misra is professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at North Carolina State University. She is also director of the National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Center for Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST), which focuses on self-powered wearable devices for health.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
