Flood forecasting underpins the wider flood warning service provided by the Environment Agency. In a recent overhaul for the launch of the future flood forecasting system, the Agency's forecast models within Environment were converted to use the same software.

Capita undertook the conversion of 17 complex hydrodynamic models from MIKE11 and bespoke software into PDM and Flood Modeller software. We then undertook calibration and performance testing across multiple sites using MATH by Plan B and Flood Modeller to evaluate and score the performance of the models. This presentation will highlight how Flood Modeller was used, lessons learned, and recommendations from the project.
