If you want to learn about geohazards, the best classroom you can have is an active tectonic plate boundary. Perched precariously on the Pacific Ring of Fire, Japan is one of the most geologically unstable countries in the world. That’s why it was the perfect destination for a group of ANU students to learn about the mechanics, risks and mitigation measures of geological hazards. In this video, undergraduate student Jenna Hoy shares her experience taking the course. Video footage provided by Denis Lissogourski.
