Tropical Storm Debby hits the Gulf

We continue to follow Debby this evening as she moves through the Gulf of Mexico. This tropical storm is expected to strengthen into a minor hurricane before making landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida Sunday or Monday evening. Several tropical alerts are in effect for the Florida coast.
Locally, we do not anticipate any direct impact from Debby. We will see the waves increase on our beaches late this weekend.
