Osaka is a major port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu. It is known for its modern architecture, nightlife and hearty street food.
Dōtonbori or Dōtombori (道頓堀, pronounced [doːtomboɾi]) is one of the main tourist destinations in Osaka, Japan, running along the Dōtonbori Canal from Dōtonboribashi Bridge to Nipponbashi Bridge in the Namba Ward of the city's Chuo Ward. Historically a theater district, today it is a popular nightlife and entertainment venue characterized by its eccentric atmosphere and large neon signs.

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼) is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made from wheat flour dough and cooked in a special molded pan. It is usually filled with sliced or diced octopus (tako), leftover tempura (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion. Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce) and mayonnaise, then sprinkled with green lava (aonori). and dried bonito shavings.
