Curious what exactly we were doing: we have it all on the blog here: http://www.untamedscience.com/blog/gopro-to-space/

We sent 5 GoPros into space, and it was awesome! Well, technically it was close to space (the most common definition of space is that it begins 328,083 feet above the Earth's surface. It seemed cooler to say that 'he was going into space). I think we finally reached 80,000' when the balloon popped. It’s still quite high!

The purpose of this video is to guide you through the complete step-by-step process of launching your own payload into space via a weather balloon.

Because it's WAY too long to describe in detail here, we created a blog about it: http://www.untamedscience.com/blog/gopro-to-space/ Go there for all the exact details and the means to buy all the products to do it yourself.
