00:00 Good watch to wear Introduction

If you love watches, and once you have more than one watch in your collection, you now have a decision to make: which one should I wear?

Ultimately, with things being a lot more casual these days, it's a lot easier to wear different watches in different situations.

01:01 Casual

This means you want to ignore dress watches here. Sleek designs and timeless style are far too jarring in these situations and will not create a harmonious look. Instead, choose a watch whose practicality is at the center of its design. Sports watches with features like water resistance are great for casual scenarios.

02:30 Smart Casual/Semi-Casual/Daily

Clothing in this category can overlap very well with your casual pieces, but the trick with the everyday dress code is being able to incorporate clothing of a slightly higher formality as well. Watches from our previous casual category would also fit here.

04:35 Business casual

Things are now at a point where these super casual watches should now be left on the dresser. This dress code still allows for those smart bracelet choices to be seen, but this time around you can start adding some fancier leather.

No matter which strap you choose, the goal of watches in this category should be to streamline the dial and features.

05:55 Business

The watches you choose for this formality are definitely on the dressy side. While some of the watches we just discussed for business casual will still work great here, there are some details you need to take care of.

07:09 Evening outfit

You may be surprised to learn that the answer is: no watches should be worn here. Traditionally, wearing a watch with your evening wear is considered bad etiquette. Having a watch on display on your wrist or on a pocket watch chain makes it seem like you're not fully invested in where you are.

Since black tie rules are a bit more lenient than white tie rules, it is acceptable to add a watch to your black tie ensemble. Assuming you follow the classic styles of black tie outfits, this watch should be just as stylish.
