SAN FRANCISCO – Welcome to the beautiful city of San Francisco, California on the west coast of the United States. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States and has a rich gastronomic history. Today we're taking a classic, heritage food tour of San Francisco, where we'll eat at some of the city's oldest and best restaurants. We will eat huge quantities of cioppino, a seafood stew invented in San Francisco!

Once again, thank you to Visit California for sponsoring my trip.

Swan Oyster Depot (https://goo.gl/maps/Z8ggEVypMWY7pAyX7) Total Price – 109.50 – First, on this food tour we headed to the legendary Swan Oyster Depot, easily one of the best restaurants I looked forward to eating at. all SF. It's like stepping back in time from the moment you enter. Everything is bar counter style seafood, fresh and whatever is in season. I tried a bunch of different dishes, including a Crab Louie (another dish invented in San Francisco), as well as sourdough smoked salmon, chowder, shrimp cocktail, Sicilian sashimi, and crab backs. What a meal and what a way to start this ultimate San Francisco food tour.

Sotto Mare (https://goo.gl/maps/ZKvJcnWGzYYMqYFG6) – We then headed to Sotto Mare, an Italian-American restaurant serving seafood and local dishes. Among their list of dishes, no one goes to Sotto Mare without ordering their cioppino, an Italian-American seafood blend with tomatoes, white wine and lots of garlic. It's San Francisco's signature dish, and you can't visit without trying it.

Anchor Oyster Bar (https://goo.gl/maps/11JCpCf8g8rv6kJt6) – Total price – 136.29 – One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco is Anchor Oyster Bar, where they again specialize in oysters and cioppino. I ordered a nice platter of oysters to start and finished with a huge bowl of cioppino. For me, this is the benchmark: a beautiful tomato broth not too heavy nor too light, enhanced with herbs and spices and a wide variety of seafood. An incredible meal.

Tadich Grill (https://g.page/TadichGrill?share) – Total Price – 129.26 – Finally, to end this San Francisco food tour, we headed to Tadich Grill in downtown. Dating back to 1849, this is not only the oldest restaurant in SF, but also the oldest restaurant in California! It's absolutely classic from the entrance, huge wooden bar counter, high saloon-style ceiling and waiters in white coats. I tried a number of dishes, including, you guessed it, the cioppino. But the real winner here for me is the local sandy touches.

And that concludes this ultimate San Francisco food tour!
