In 2017, Serve Robotics co-founder and CEO Dr. Ali Kashani saw a problem with our dependence on cars.

Not only do we move large items, like dining tables, with cars, but we also move small items, like our dinner deliveries, with cars. This system is not only incredibly inefficient, but it creates unnecessary emissions, traffic and accidents. But could this problem be solved with a cute little robot?

To help us reduce our reliance on cars, Ali created a fully autonomous sidewalk robot used to deliver small items like our dinner deliveries. Serve's goal is to remove 5% of food deliveries from the roads over the next five years. That would be about 100,000 vehicles in the United States alone.
