If you've watched many of my videos, or any of them, you'll know how little I think of the Alpine F1 team. Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso gave them the middle finger a few years ago, it was only the beginning. The mass layoff of their management team was a complete joke. They fell to a new low when they sought help from Flavio Briatore, a man who should never be allowed to compete in an F1 race, let alone have any involvement with a team, especially one with which he cheated on. Does Renault have no shame? As they have imploded over the past couple of years, the end of the team is looking more and more likely and the recent announcements regarding their engine department are the final straw. As Renault closes its engine department and announces that it will buy a large number of parts from Mercedes, the end of Alpine is here and I couldn't be more excited.
