What is science? Is the Moon made of green cheese? What is a star made of? How hot is the sun? What is the difference between a galactic cluster and a globular cluster? How was the solar system formed? How was the Universe formed? Will this last forever? This course attempts to answer these questions and many more, providing a comprehensive overview of objects and events beyond Earth's atmosphere and Earth itself, as a planetary member of the Solar System. We will explore the Sun, the planets, the many other objects found in the solar system, the stars and galaxies, dark matter, dark energy, the fate of the universe, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
