Stocks turned positive late Tuesday morning.
The S&P 500 (GSPC) rose more than 0.3%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) rose about 0.6%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) rose more than 0.1%.
Financial Services (XLF) was the only sector to outperform the broader S&P 500 index on Tuesday. And the rebound of the banks has also reverberated across the spectrum of capitalizations up to regional banks. The S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE) rose almost 2%.
The small-cap Russell 2000 index (RUT), heavily influenced by regional banks, rose about 0.9% on the day.
