This video is a “quick start” guide on how to put on the upper body sports rehabilitation tourniquet. I have a more detailed video available on this channel if needed.

There are a few things to note about upper body SRT that will help you put on the cuff on your own.
1. Firstly, the Velcro on the outside has been extended to the end of the cuff and there is a matching Velcro strip on the inside. This addition will make it easier to initially hold the cuff before firmly placing the longer Velcro strap.

2. The second major feature is the longer piece of tubing.

HOW TO PUT ON THE ARMBAND
Right arm: Hold the cuff under your armpit with the valve facing DOWN toward the floor.
• Grasp the outer cuff and hold it against your arm.
• The inside piece will be closed, so grasp it with your thumb and index finger.
• Using the Velcro pieces, hold the armband, allowing you to grab the longer Velcro strap and place it securely around your arm.

Left arm – the process is similar except the valve should be facing UP towards the ceiling.
• As with the right arm, place the cuff under your arm, pull the end of the cuff away from your body and place it on your arm.
• With your thumb and index finger, grasp the nearest end and place the cuff so you can grab the long Velcro strap to secure the cuff.
• Once the cuff is snug and secure, it is ready to be inflated.

The nylon straps provided are not necessary, however if you have a coach they can be tied if necessary.

HOW TO PUMP THE CUFF
• Make sure the valve is at 90 degrees to allow air to flow through the cuff.

• Place the longer tube firmly into the pump end, then gently place the tube into the valve end – but not too firmly.
• Pump it up to the desired pressure
• Once the pressure is correct, lock the valve by turning it towards the cuff.
• Remove the tube and repeat the operation for the other arm.

You are now ready to exercise. Once you get the hang of it, it's a quick and easy process.
