Historically, testing was not a priority.

In the 1960s, IBM introduced the System/360, a legendary mainframe computer designed specifically to be modular and compatible with any task. The cost and time required to build it were equally legendary: around 1,000 employees worked on the system for 10 years and the initial budget of 25 million was increased to 5 billion. This situation was typical of the 1960s. Creating programs took time, companies hired an excessive number of engineers to speed up development, but the pool of qualified programmers was limited and they soon found themselves with poor quality software and infested with bugs.

What's new today? Testing has become more than a routine task, it has earned the title of quality assurance, which also covers planning, monitoring and control. And what about the fastest growing areas of quality assurance today?
