Walk in the woods: photography workshop in Cannock Chase
Embrace the art of nature photography this fall
As the leaves change from bright green to rich hues of amber, gold and purple, Cannock Chase transforms into a photographer's paradise. From September to the end of November, join me for an immersive photography workshop that captures the essence of autumn in one of England's most picturesque landscapes.
Why Cannock Chase?
Cannock Chase, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), offers an array of stunning views, ancient woodland and diverse wildlife. The interaction of light through the canopy, forest floor textures and tranquil streams provide endless possibilities for capturing the beauty of nature. My workshop, aptly named “Walk in the Woods,” is designed to help photographers of all levels harness these elements to create breathtaking images.
What to expect
Our workshops are aimed at both beginners and experienced photographers. Each session includes:
Guided Walks: Explore the most photogenic spots in Cannock Chase with an expert guide who knows the area intimately.
Technical Mastery: Learn how to make the most of your camera settings to capture the intricate details of the forest. Our instructors will give you tips on exposure, composition and use of natural light.
Creative Techniques: Experiment with different photography techniques such as macro photography to capture fine details and using filters to enhance colors.
Post-Processing Tips: After your shoot, we'll dive into post-processing techniques to help you bring out the best in your photos. Learn how to use software tools to improve color, sharpness and overall impact.
Meet your instructor
An award-winning photographer with years of experience capturing the beauty of natural landscapes. With a passion for teaching and a deep love of Cannock Chase, I will guide you through the technical and creative aspects of nature photography.
What you will need
A digital camera with manual settings (DSLR or mirrorless preferred)
A tripod for stable shots, especially in low light conditions
Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
Optional: macro lenses, filters and other accessories

Our workshops take place from September to November, taking advantage of the changing colors and atmospheres of the season. Each session is limited in size to ensure personalized attention and plenty of opportunities for one-on-one teaching.
