A pioneer, Anker Weidick was the first, and for a very long time the only, scientist to work on the inventory of Greenland's glaciers. Only now, several decades later, are attempts to carry out widespread inventories of Greenland's glaciers, with the help of abundant computing power. "All modern studies of the sensitivity of Greenland's glaciers build on the pioneering work done by Anker Weidick long before it became 'modern'."
