Robots are not like humans, who can do many different things. They are designed for very specific tasks like vacuuming our homes, assembling cars in a factory, or exploring the surface of other planets. So while it may be a while before we have a general-purpose domestic robot that can do everything, robots are still very important because they can do some things incredibly well, even better than humans. Today we'll look at the role of AI in addressing three key challenges in robotics: localization, planning, and manipulation.
