A diagnosis of anxiety disorder does not mean you are defective, or that it is your fault, or that you are not broken. The disorder is treatable. It does not have to be permanent! Anxiety is a real and difficult condition in which our physiology, mind, and experiences become caught in a cycle of escalating worry and physical symptoms. But this cycle can be reversed with the right knowledge, skills, and practice. It can be difficult to break this pattern on your own, but with the right support and resources, you can overcome an anxiety disorder!
In this video, learn 10 ways to treat anxiety, reduce stress, and become healthier and happier.

In therapy, I use a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy, systems theory, positive psychology, and bio-psycho-social approaches to address mental illness and other challenges we all face in life. The ideas in my videos are often adapted from multiple sources. Many of them come from acceptance and commitment therapy, particularly the work of Steven Hayes, Jason Luoma, and Russ Harris. The sections on stress and the mind-body connection come from the work of Stephen Porges (polyvagal theory), Peter Levine (somatic experiencing), Francine Shapiro (EMDR), and Bessel Van Der Kolk. I also draw heavily on the work of the Arbinger Institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose the direction of our lives.
And deeper than all of this, the gospel of Jesus Christ guides my personal worldview and my sense of security, peace, hope, and love https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe
