The subatomic world has long been known to be truly confusing, with particles that are waves and vice versa. Cats are alive and dead, and everything is governed by probabilities.

While this remains true, science has advanced since the invention of quantum mechanics, and scientists now use an extended form of quantum mechanics called quantum field theory, or QFT. QFT tells us that all particles are waves that interact with each other. If you previously thought the quantum world was weird, modern ideas may give you a headache. In this video, Dr. Don Lincoln from Fermilab tells us about it.
