Quantum computing is a type of computing that uses the principles of quantum mechanics to solve problems that are too complex for classical computers. Classical computers use bits, which can be 0 or 1, to perform operations. Quantum computers, on the other hand, use quantum bits or qubits, which can exist in several states at the same time. This allows quantum computers to perform multiple calculations simultaneously, making them much faster and more powerful than classical computers for certain types of problems.

In simple terms, imagine that you are trying to escape a maze. A classical computer would try all possible paths one by one until it finds the exit. A quantum computer, on the other hand, could explore all possible paths at once and find the exit much faster.
