What is a project ? This definitely has a sexy tone to it, doesn't it? Project…

I love the way it sounds. I wonder how cool that must sound in French.

Project…
Well, the project is a temporary attempt to create a unique solution.
Yeah, those are the operations. No
Well, the difference between a project and operations is quite simple. A project ends. So it's temporary. You implement your project, you close it, you create a product/service/or whatever outcome you wanted, and then you're done.
Whereas in operations, it is continuous and repetitive.
You may also have heard of the terms program and portfolio. Let me quickly explain them here. The program is made up of several implemented projects.

Combined. And Portfolio is the same. Several programs implemented.
It is therefore a project, a program, a portfolio.
Now, before we go further and dive deep. You need to understand something crucial. To execute any project you need 2 methodologies.
The first is the project life cycle and the second is the project management process.
Most people confuse these 2. And if these are not clear, you can say goodbye to PMP certification. It's absolutely amazing how many content creators on YouTube confuse these two. They are not interchangeable. You cannot afford to confuse a project life cycle with a project management process.
Don't worry, I'll make it easy for you.
Let's start with the project life cycle.
The project life cycle is unique to a project, an industry and your needs.

It's highly customizable. Think about it like this; human development is a project.
So your life cycle is:
1) Design
2) Birth
3) Childhood
4) Teenage hood. Teenage balaclava. Is it a word? Adolescence?
5) Adulthood
6) And death
Easy stuff, right? So now if this was an IT project. I'm not a computer person but I would like something like this;
High level design
Detailed design
Coding
Essay
Facility
And the turnover
This is the project life cycle.
The term cycle is a bit confusing here. I think. But who knows.

This video covers:
project management
project management institute
Professional certification in PMP project management
project life cycle
PMI project management
manage a project
the fundamentals of project management
the fundamentals of project management
project management for beginners
