Try this: The next time you engage in negative self-talk, take a break. Get out a notepad and write down what made you think this way. Ask yourself if it's useful. Then, practice speaking to yourself with compassion instead.

Being kind to yourself helps reduce negative emotions, protects your self-esteem, and ensures that loneliness doesn't turn into depression.
