This is part one of a two-part tornado documentary highlighting the incredible Soloman – Abilene – Chapman Kansas EF4 that occurred on May 25, 2016. One of the tools I use To get closer tornado images is Google Maps. In this video, I overlaid Google Maps and radar imagery to show the location of vehicles in relation to the tornado.

This tornado formed at 7:07 p.m. and remained on the ground for approximately 90 minutes. Late in the evening, I uploaded the more refined, raw footage of the tornado to YouTube, starting halfway through the chase. Recently, while looking through my files, I realized that there are still many great images of this tornado that have never been seen before. So this is it…
