Our guest is Dr. Andrew Schuerger, a scientist in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida. Dr. Schuerger worked for 18 years at Land, a hydroponics research and education center at Disney's Epcot Center, as well as at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. His research includes studying the effects of Martian conditions on the survival, growth and adaptation of microorganisms, as well as studying methane on Mars as a potential biosignature.
