Priyans, from Mumbai, took several highway trips in his MG ZS EV. This journey from Bangalore was unfortunately a heartbreaking experience for him.
– The Priyans left Bengaluru early in the morning on a Sunday.
– After 3 hours of driving, he reached Davanagere, which has a Delta charger from Tata Power.
– The charger displayed an error code called “00312C”. The error said "Stop charging while precharging".
– He called the Tata Power call center, and the manager didn't know what to do!
– All of a sudden, Priyans realized that his MG ZS EV would not shift into drive or reverse mode. The instrument cluster flashed an orange sign reading “Vehicle Control Systems Fault, Please Pull Over Safely”
– He then pressed the iCall button on the steering wheel and tried to speak with MG to resolve the issue.
– MG technician suggested several hacks regarding AUX battery
– Priyans found that MG owners in India and the UK had faced similar problems. Their car had to be towed to the gas station
– The solution was to tow the car to the service center, where the technicians connected their laptop to the car, removed a "software flag", restarted the car, and the car could charge and continue as if nothing had happened. 'was !

– The question is why can't MG resolve this issue remotely and thus eliminate the dreaded 'vehicle control systems fault'? Additionally, many such faults keep happening with MG ZS EVs and they don't know how to fix them or why it happens.
– This is a classic example of an ICE CAR company with poor software capabilities needed for electric vehicles.
