Game of Apps is an after-school program that equips students with practical, essential skills to help them succeed in 21st century careers. We offer high school and middle school programs.

High School Program: We guide high school students through the app creation process, from start to finish. Local professional designers and developers mentor students each week and teach them how to use the same tools, techniques and processes used in the industry as students learn to create mobile applications. This annual program culminates with the Game of Apps championship event.

Middle Education Program: We introduce students to basic coding concepts using Swift Playgrounds. The fun and supportive environment encourages all students, regardless of their background or interests, to learn coding skills that will help them in whatever future field they pursue. There are 3 levels in this program.

GoA MISSION

Preparing young people for 21st century careers

We are a nonprofit company that helps prepare today's youth for future careers (in technology or otherwise) by teaching them to think critically, develop empathy, and solve complex problems and ambiguous to create value. We guide them in putting these skills into practice by building technology products, leveraging industry-standard tools, and giving them valuable insights into future career options.

Basic principles

* We actively seek out young people who may not be naturally drawn to technology, dispel common misconceptions and show them that a future career in technology can be a viable option.

* We bring together teams of professionals (working at local technology companies) who give back to this next generation by teaching, mentoring and sharing their experiences.

* We collaborate with educators and community leaders to bridge the gap in today's technology education.
