An understanding of the scale of space puts into perspective how little physical matter there is.

If you adjust an astronomical unit (1 AU average distance of 93 million miles between Earth and Sun) to a single inch, you will get a similar number of AU in a light year as there are inches in a mile, approximately 63,300.

This means that if Earth is 1 inch from the Sun, Pluto would be 3 feet away, our entire solar system would fit in the outstretched arms of an adult, and our nearest neighboring star, Proxima Centauri, would be 4 miles away.

Author, EU advocate and narrator Matt Finn, questions the value and measurement of scales – the further you look in either direction, things keep growing or shrinking – and how electric force is exclusively known for being capable of evolving infinitely, large and/or small.
