Computer science is the subject that studies what computers can do and investigates the best ways to solve the world's problems with them. It is a broad field that overlaps with pure mathematics, engineering, and many other scientific disciplines. In this video I summarize the topic as much as possible and show how the areas relate to each other.

Some notes on this video:
1. Some people have pointed out that I should have included computer security alongside hacking, and I completely agree, that was an oversight on my part. Apologies to all IT security professionals and thank you for all your hard work!
2. I also failed to mention interpreters alongside compilers in the conforming section. Again, I blame myself because, of course, this is an important concept that people need to hear about. Also, language layers compiled into other languages are too complicated, in practice it's simpler than that. I guess I should have chosen a simple example.
3. NP-complete problems are possible to solve, but they become very difficult to solve very quickly as they grow. When I said NP-complete then /"impossible to solve/
