Introducing the new Azure SDK

Developer productivity is the top priority for the new Azure SDK. To enable this productivity, our libraries must be idiomatic, consistent, accessible, diagnosable and reliable.

The old SDK was spread across dozens of repositories while the new SDK consolidated all code into language-specific single-repositories.

The old SDK had varying levels of support for languages and operating systems, while the new SDK treats all languages and operating systems the same.

The old SDK had various package management pipelines and policies. The new SDK uses Azure DevOps and GitHub for CI/CD and is available for the most popular package managers.

Azure SDK client libraries are released monthly. You can find the most up-to-date list of libraries at https://azure.com/sdk

All SDK code can be found on GitHub at https://github.com/azure/azure-sdk
