Nova 2024: NASA says we are about to witness a unique explosion in the sky. This is not the expected Betelgeuse supernova. Rather, it is the sudden appearance of a nova in the sky. The term /"nova/" means /"new/" in Latin, referring to a /"new star/" in the sky. It is a passing astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, seemingly new star, which slowly disappears over time. This spectacular nova will occur in a star system known as T Coronae Borealis, or T CrB, located in the constellation Corona Borealis, about 3,000 light years away. The best part is that this celestial event can be seen with the naked eye.
