IT professionals from across the country will offer free online classes to students of rural government schools under the Online Rural Education Initiative (OREI) launched by IIT Kanpur. This initiative aims to bridge the educational gap by connecting IITians with rural students through a specially developed platform. Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra inaugurated the program at UP Sainik School in Sarojininagar on Monday.

Under OREI, IITians will teach mathematics and science to students in 10 government secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is expected to benefit students from grades 9 to 12, by providing them with guidance and expertise from IITians who excel in science and mathematics. The participation of these accomplished individuals will inspire students to aspire to greatness and success in their own lives. The head of the Uttar Pradesh secondary education department expressed enthusiasm for the program, highlighting its potential to empower students and broaden their horizons beyond traditional classroom learning.
