An exhibition I have been working on for the past year and a half opened this week. It is called “The Past is Present: Black Artists Respond to the Complicated Histories of Slavery” and features a phenomenal roster of artists who explore the legacies of slavery through their creative practices. Collaborating with Herron Galleries on this exhibition has been a crash course in radical curatorial practice. The exhibition website is the link in my bio.
