Ugh. It was supposed to be a trend. Don't make me emotional. But my eyes hurt from the tears I'm trying to hold back.

This is my 6th grade sketchbook. I drew for fun when I wasn't doing homework, studying, or playing tennis. I designed dresses for my Barbie, dance recitals, Halloween and even my friend's prom dress later in high school. All I ever wanted was to become a fashion designer.

My parents suppressed my dreams, hoping to save me from a risky career, but at the time, it completely broke down our relationship. I felt so lost, empty and aimless. I had so much anger in my heart towards them.

I ended up sabotaging myself so I couldn't take the MCAT, but I still got a degree in biology, lived a short corporate life, took random jobs on Craigslist, was a buyer on eBay for a second I was teaching Pilates on YouTube (while they kept asking "when are you going back to school?"), and now…

*sigh*

I am so grateful. I can't believe I'm going to be able to live out little Cassey's dream.
