Are you considering entering an art competition but don't know how to increase your chances of winning? Well, in this video I explain 3 things you can do to help you win art competitions. I have been entering competitions for years and have won prizes in almost every one I have entered. For this reason, I've identified a few things you can do, and have done, to help you win prizes in art competitions and potentially make money from them!

If you're still not sure if you want to enter an art competition, just for this reason, because the worst that can happen is that you practice more with your art and don't win anything, but you never know what could happen! As I said in the video, if you would like me to answer any other questions about competitions or review a piece you are considering submitting, I would love to answer your questions!

Below I have linked a list of art competitions you can enter online. Not all of these competitions offer cash prizes, but many of them do and if you win a prize in one of them, you could potentially win hundreds of dollars!

I haven't entered all of these contests, but I made sure to only include those that I know are easy to enter.

Contests in the United States only:
• https://www.freedomfestival.org/event/art-contest/ – win up to 500, grades K-12
• https://westgov.org/celebrate-the-west/ – Win up to 1,200, grades 10-12 – this competition is open to students in the western half of the United States. Check out this link if you would like to see my 2019 winning entry: https://westgov.org/celebrate-the-west/competition/2019-winners
• https://www.studentartguide.com/resources/high-school-art-competitions-list – list of 50 other competitions

Canada and United States:
• https://www.celebratingart.com/ – 25 for the top 10 – grades K-12
• https://www.artandwriting.org/what-we-do/the-awards/how-to-enter/ – Grades 7-12

International competitions:
• https://bowseat.org/programs/ocean-awareness-contest/ – win up to 1,500 people, ages 11-18.
• https://www.artistsnetwork.com/art-competitions – win up to 2,500 – there is a teen competition and an adult competition.
• https://www.studentartguide.com/resources/high-school-art-competitions-list – list of 50 other competitions – not all of them are international, however

Entering local competitions is also a good idea as there is usually less competition and there can often be decent cash prizes, so I would recommend doing more research.
