Trauma affects us all differently, so recognizing the coping mechanisms or behaviors you've developed in response to the trauma can help support your healing journey. In this video I share how you can begin to release trauma stored in the body so you can heal your stress, anxiety, and pain.

It's easy to think negatively about how you learned to cope with childhood trauma. But the first part of healing is understanding that these coping strategies helped you survive that moment. By understanding that they once served a necessary cause, we can begin to abandon them in love.

The gift of being an adult is that we do not depend on others to meet our basic emotional needs. We have within us what we need to heal, but to access it we must slow down, make space, and learn to connect to the love within us.

Pre-order my new book It's Not Your Fault: Why Childhood Trauma Shapes You and How to Break Free https://www.alexhoward.com/its-not-your-fault
