Giancarlo Guerrero, Music Director and Conductor of the Nashville Symphony, leads an engaging and invigorating discussion on the elements and structure of symphony music. What is a symphony? Maestro Guerrero will dissect the symphonic form exploring the scherzo, minuet, theme and variation, and much more. The great symphony composers and their works are also explored through their different approaches to form and their unique, recognizable voices.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Vanderbilt supports lifelong learning. It is an organization that offers adults educational programs, stimulating tours and trips, and a variety of social events.
