Black holes are born from the remains of massive stars that have exhausted their nuclear fuel. When such a star reaches the end of its life, it undergoes a spectacular collapse under its own gravity, leading to a supernova explosion. If the remaining core is massive enough, it continues to collapse into a single point, creating a black hole, a region of space where gravity is so intense that not even light can escape.
