To celebrate GTRI’s 90th anniversary, we identified the most significant innovations from each decade of the organization’s history. The team reviewed historical documents and consulted with researchers and senior executives to develop a long list of candidate innovations. Now comes the hard part: choosing the nine most significant developments.

Impact was measured by factors such as changed capabilities produced, new solutions provided to sponsors, new research directions generated, effects on sponsors and collaborators, and how each innovation led to new approaches to addressing other challenges.

The results are shared here and were presented publicly at the GTRI's 90th anniversary celebration on August 16, 2024.
