ClimateStory Ep12 – Smallholding, Kent

On July 20, we recorded the hottest day on record in the UK. Temperatures reached over 40 degrees Celsius as firefighters battled several blazes across the country. Is this the cause of my climate change, and is this the new status quo?

I traveled to Kent to meet Will Devlin, chef-owner of Michelin-starred restaurant 'The Small Holding', to understand the effects of the heatwave on farmers and to learn more about Will's beautiful family restaurant .

The Small Holding is one of the most unique restaurants I have ever had the chance to visit, as not only do they grow their own organic fruits and vegetables, but they also maintain over 100 acres of pasture, where sheep can graze freely and openly.

In this episode of ClimateStory, Will shares his unique perspective on ethical animal husbandry, running an organic garden, and his biggest pet peeves about the food industrial complex.

ClimateStory features chefs, entrepreneurs and creatives at the forefront of sustainability. Take a second to subscribe to weekly episodes from around the world.

My name is Rishad Mehta and this is episode 12 of ClimateStory – The Small Holding, Kent.
