Far too many event photographers stand where they are, hoping to get great shots. Instead, they should use their senses, identify moments BEFORE they happen, and position themselves in the best possible spot to take the photo. Your ability to move, control your body and navigate through crowds is extremely important. Event photography is a demanding profession! It's important to be in shape.
