In their latest article in Development, Alfonso Martinez Arias and colleagues use quantitative measurements and mathematical modeling to reveal the integration of transcription factor activity and extracellular signaling during fate decisions in ESCs. This movie is taken from this article and shows ESCs expressing a randomly integrated H2B-Cerulean transgene under the control of the CAGS promoter. Yellow dots indicate cells that were tracked as part of their analysis.
