007 – Ecosystem ecology

In this video, Paul Andersen explains how ecosystems work. It begins with a description of how life on the planet is organized from largest to smallest in biomes, ecosystems, communities, population and individuals. It describes the main terrestrial and aquatic biomes of the planet. It then describes interactions at the ecosystem level with food webs. It also explains the importance of the niche, keystone species and the edge effect.
