In the 1990s, everyone was investing in technology. It was the essential sector fund to buy. Today, technology, once a niche sector, is omnipresent. Advances in several innovative technologies – led by cloud computing, robotics/automation and artificial intelligence – are enabling transformative new business models. We strive to identify companies that are at the forefront or benefiting from new technologies, while avoiding investing in those that are left behind. These companies cannot be in the technology sector or listed on Nasdaq. These could be sectors such as: healthcare, financial services, consumer goods or energy. We call these investments disruptive technologies because they disrupt the way an industry has previously operated. These new technologies promise increased efficiency and the ability to offer new products and services.
