These EECS 452 students presented their project, an automobile parking robot, at the Fall 2017 Design Expo.

Team members included Uthara Menon, Seth Perrin, Yiting Luo and Hao Zheng.

Their own description of the project:
Autonomous vehicles are the future of transportation systems. Inspired by this demanding research, our team focuses on the specific problem of parking autonomous vehicles. At the Expo, the robot car maneuvers in a miniature parking lot to find open perpendicular or parallel spaces and automatically parks the car. Parking is accomplished using image processing and remote sensing techniques to interpret camera and LIDAR data and uses basic vehicle motion control theory. Participants are encouraged to create imaginative and challenging paths for the robot car to navigate.
