The inter and multidisciplinary approach of the Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences (DISAT) of the University of Milan Bicocca is based on a triple concept: 1) a better understanding of the mechanisms influencing climate change in the past 2) an understanding of current assets, 3) predict future scenarios assessing the possible impacts of climate change on the environment in order to suggest effective mitigation and adaptation actions. Areas covered include geodynamics, geological hazards, marine sciences, glaciology, atmospheric chemistry and bioecology. Research is carried out in state-of-the-art laboratories.
