Tyrannosaurids were among the largest carnivorous dinosaurs and are well known for their large heads, powerful jaws, and tiny two-toed forelimbs. Although fossils of these animals can be found throughout North America and Asia, the fossil-rich rock layers of Alberta have a particularly diverse record of tyrannosaur fossils. Because of the richness of these records, much of what we have learned about tyrannosaur biology is the result of discoveries made right here in Alberta. Jared Voris of the University of Calgary discusses these findings and what they tell us about tyrannosaur biology.
